TODAY IS NATIONAL DOCTOR’S DAY

~ And on this special day of recognition, we would like to wish all of our physicians at IAA, throughout Connecticut and around the world a special day of love and appreciation for all you’ve done throughout your career and continue to do day and night to help keep us all safe and healthy. With virtual hugs and high-fives, your coworkers at Integrated Anesthesia Associates.

Did you know that the first ether anesthetic for surgery was administered by Crawford W. Long, M.D. on March 30, 1842, marking the date for Doctors Day? On that day, before Dr. Long operated to remove a tumor from a man’s neck, he administered ether anesthesia. Following surgery, the man would swear that he felt nothing during the surgery and was not aware of anything until he awoke.

On February 21, 1991, President George H.W. Bush proclaimed National Doctors Day to honor the Nation’s physicians for their dedication and leadership. Today, hundreds of thousands of doctors lead the fight against disease and illness in the United States. They specialize and continue to seek advanced treatments and cures for debilitating conditions.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: On DOCTOR’S DAY 2020, “we celebrate the bravery and commitment of our physician colleagues during this strange time. Thank you for choosing this career path. Thank you for your dedication, sacrifices, and sleepless nights. Thank you for all the hard conversations you have had and will have in the future. Thank you for employing your humanity and skillset to help families during their toughest times. In addition to all your personal sacrifice and clinical duties, we thank you for joining our group. It is through the sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences that we all become better at treating our patients and raising awareness of this pandemic. We thank everyone on the frontlines and everyone behind the scenes. We are inspired by the advocacy, creativity and productivity that you demonstrate on a daily basis.” …..
