IAA is proud to provide our award-winning anesthesia education to Quinnipiac’s residents. This residency program offers you the resources of a university-sponsored residency combined with the clinical variety and volume of cases available at our large affiliated teaching hospitals.
Throughout the four-year Hartford Healthcare, Quinnipiac University Anesthesia Residency Program, residents will work hand in hand with our teams of young and enthusiastic faculty, as well as our seasoned and highly trained senior staff.
Training:
Throughout their training, residents will engage in a diverse curriculum that ensures comprehensive education across various anesthesia subspecialties. Our curriculum and program structure are focused on equipping residents to become independent physicians, fellowship candidates, and future leaders.
Location:
Our residency is based in beautiful Connecticut at St. Vincent’s Medical Center (SVMC), a 473-bed facility located in Fairfield County. SVMC is a part of the Hartford HealthCare System and has been serving Bridgeport, one of the largest and most ethnically diverse cities in Connecticut, for over 120 years.
Faculty:
Our faculty has trained at premier programs and brings their experience and knowledge to Quinnipiac and Hartford HealthCare.
Residency Program:
Our anesthesiology residency program offers excellent clinical training amongst a diverse patient population, often with significant co-morbidities. Given the complexity of our patient population and the diversity of cases, our residents will be uniquely prepared for independent anesthesia practice.
Expertise:
Our particular areas of interest and expertise are opioid-sparing and early recovery after surgery (ERAS) techniques. Additionally, our Regional Anesthesia fellowship program graduates one to two fellows each year.
We welcome your interest in our residency program and look forward to hearing from you soon.
