At a recent SCA Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon held on May 5-7, 2023,  IAA’s Dr. Trevor Sutton had two opportunities to highlight his emerging work in the study of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

As a member of the SCA DEI panel, Dr. Sutton presented a lecture during this session titled Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion entitled: “Beyond Academics, What Every Anesthesiologist Should Know“. The panel presentation was extremely well-received.

At the same conference of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists, he also presented a poster entitled: “Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Bystander Treatment and Outcomes for Witnessed Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest in Connecticut.”

This study was a cross-sectional, retrospective study of survival and neurological function outcomes for adults with witnessed cardiac arrest at home and in public locations in Connecticut between 2013 and 2021 utilizing the Connecticut Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival.
