We would like to welcome Tori Piacquadio DNAP, CRNA, and Michelle Stevens MSNA, CRNA, DNAPc to their new roles as Assistant Director of Clinical Education for the Integrated Anesthesia Associates’ (IAA’) Nurse Anesthesia Program of Hartford (NAPH) in the Fairfield and Hartford divisions, respectively.

They work in collaboration with the Program Director, Terri Williams DNAP, CRNA, APRN, and the medical director of IAA’s NAPH to mentor student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs) and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs).

As representatives of IAA’s NAPH, the Assistant Directors of Clinical Education participate in clinical and didactic teaching, including the Objective Structed Clinical Exams (OSCE), simulation lab, anesthesia clinical practicum, and Doctoral Scholarly Projects (DSP).

The NAPH entry-level program is a full-time, 36-month-long practice doctoral program, accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) that prepares critical care registered nurses to become CRNAs.

The program has an academic affiliation with Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) to grant a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degree. The entry-level program is front-loaded with a full year of didactic science courses followed by a 2-year clinical phase.

These clinical sites are offered at Hartford Hospital, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Midstate Medical Center, and the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Graduating SRNAs perform over 800 surgical cases and 3,000 clinical hours to be eligible to take the National Certification Exam (NCE).
