The article, Racial Disparities in Atrial Fibrillation After Coronary Artery Bypass: Impact of Left Atrial Volume, was recently published in “Annals of Thoracic Surgery Short Reports.”
This manuscript reflects collaboration with leaders in cardiac surgery, cardiology, and research administration.
Together, the team examined the occurrence of atrial fibrillation in 1,218 patients who had isolated coronary artery bypass surgery and found that preoperative echocardiographic measurement of left atrial volume index was associated with postoperative atrial fibrillation in some patients. This may lead to future studies designed to predict and prevent atrial fibrillation following coronary artery bypass surgery.
Congratulations to all!
